Tecnogen completes the green hydrogen cogeneration project
Tecnogen, part of BGG S.p.A., completed project F/310304/02/X56 in June 2025, carried out with non-repayable funding under the resources provided by the Decree of the Minister of Economic Development dated 31 December 2021.

Developed with Dumarey Automotive Italia S.p.A. and Politecnico di Torino as part of the Innovation Agreement signed by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and the Emilia-Romagna Region, the project led to the creation of a zero-emission cogeneration system integrating renewable energy sources, battery storage and an electrolyzer for the production and use of green hydrogen.
The system makes it possible to store excess energy and reuse it later to generate electricity and heat in a clean, efficient and sustainable way.
The solution developed by Tecnogen stands out for the following advantages:
Scalability
The system is designed for pilot projects and energy communities, with the possibility to grow and develop over time.
Integration
The solution integrates energy production and storage in a plug & play system.
Ease of transport
All components are housed in standard 20-foot H₂ containers.
Easy installation and positioning
The modular configuration allows for simple and flexible installation.
Integration with existing systems
The system can be easily integrated with photovoltaic systems and the electrical grid.
Operational flexibility
The solution enables efficient management of energy demand peaks.
With this project, Tecnogen confirms its commitment to developing innovative solutions for the energy transition, contributing to BGG’s technological innovation path through the production and use of clean energy based on green hydrogen technologies.
